Like all great modern love stories, ours began… with a misclick.

Back in 2013, Kelsey was scrolling through Plenty of Fish, casually browsing profiles and probably judging bios with the scrutiny of a reality TV competition judge.

Somewhere between deciding who was worth a second glance and who definitely was not, her finger slipped and she accidentally clicked on a profile.

That profile belonged to Shawn.

At first, it was nothing more than a simple mistake. But after looking at his profile, Kelsey figured, "Well, since I'm already here, I might as well send a message." What she didn't realize was that one accidental click would become the start of a story that would span more than a decade.

Not long after, Shawn loaded up his gigantic Ford F-250 and made the drive to Clarion University to meet the girl who had accidentally found him online. Determined to make a good first impression, he arrived on campus only to face one unexpected obstacle: parking.

From a safe distance, Kelsey and her friends watched as Shawn attempted to maneuver his massive truck into a parking spot. Once. Twice. Three times. Four times. Five times. By then, Kelsey was equal parts entertained and impressed by his commitment. Eventually, the truck was successfully parked, proving that persistence would become one of Shawn's defining qualities.

Their first "date" wasn't exactly traditional. It took place in the Clarion dining hall and included several of Kelsey's friends, because apparently subtlety wasn't part of the plan. Yet somehow, between the trays of cafeteria food, conversations about school, and plenty of laughter, something felt different. There was an easy comfort between them from the very beginning.

As the day came to an end, neither of them knew exactly what the future held, but they both knew they wanted to see each other again.

What followed was years of building a relationship through determination, patience, and a lot of miles.

With Kelsey attending Clarion and Shawn attending IUP, long-distance quickly became part of their routine. They spent countless hours on Skype before FaceTime was the norm, often studying "together" while technically being on separate campuses. Weekends became precious opportunities to see one another, and they learned that love sometimes looks like long drives, late-night phone calls, and counting down the days until the next visit.

Through every challenge, Shawn remained Kelsey's biggest supporter. During some of the hardest moments of her life, he stood beside her with unwavering patience, quiet strength, and a reassuring presence that never failed to make things feel a little easier. He celebrated her victories, encouraged her through setbacks, and reminded her of her strength even when she struggled to see it herself.

Together, they grew up.

They celebrated graduations, navigated career changes, earned degrees, and learned what it meant to build a life alongside one another. Through every season, they continued choosing each other over and over again.

After college, they both moved back home, but the road trips didn't stop. If anything, they had become experts at finding reasons to spend time together no matter how busy life became.

Then came the trip that would spark an entirely new chapter of their story.

When Shawn had the opportunity to attend a work training at Disney, Kelsey happily tagged along. What started as a fun trip quickly became an obsession. They discovered a shared love for Disney magic, unforgettable experiences, and creating memories together. Soon there were return visits, birthday celebrations featuring Mickey-shaped treats, and enough Disney conversations to convince most people they should probably just move to Florida.

Over the years, Disney became more than just a vacation destination—it became part of their story. A place filled with memories, laughter, traditions, and reminders that life is best enjoyed with the person who makes every adventure better.

As the years passed, their relationship became a collection of thousands of moments both big and small: celebrating accomplishments, supporting one another through challenges, taking road trips, dreaming about the future, and creating a life built on friendship, trust, and love.

Now, after nearly 13 years together, countless miles traveled, countless Disney memories, and enough stories to fill several books, they have arrived at this moment.

The moment where they stand before the people they love most and promise forever.

Looking back, it's amazing to think that something so significant began with something so small.

One accidental click.

One brave road trip.

One very stubborn truck trying to park.

And one decision to take a chance on each other.

The rest, as they say, is history.
